Good Morning Seniors and Happy Monday!

Welcome to the first day (and hopefully the fourth last day) of Remote Learning. Below is a slideshow that shows the learning that you need to complete for the day. Your learning will be accessible on seesaw for maths and in your google drive (literacy) folder for literacy.

Your teacher will hold a 9am google meet to say hello and discuss the learning for the day. You will also have a maths google meet today. In this google meet, you will complete your maths learning with your teacher. All your google meets for the week have been scheduled in your google calendar! Please remember to have a look.

Before jumping into a google meet, you need to ensure that you:

  • Have told you parents/family members that you are joining a google meet
  • are dressed appropriately for learning
  • have an appropriate background behind you
  • are in a central space of the house
  • have your microphone on mute

We can’t wait to see you!

Oh, also…the start of this week is the practice rounds for the MATIFIC Olympiad competition. Please jump onto MATIFIC during the day to complete activities in “Competition Island.” The more practice the better! The competition starts on Thursday 3rd July (this week) and there are lots of prizes to be won!!!

Remote Learning 4.0

Good afternoon senior students,

We hope you are all enjoying your day and are using the time to do something you enjoy or spend some time with your families.

Remote Learning will begin on Monday 31st May.

Each day there will be a whole class Google Meet at 9:00am. It is important that you attend as this is where your teachers will give you your instructions for the day and let you know of anything important.

Teachers will also hold Google Meets with individual groups of students throughout each day. All Google Meets can be accessed through your calendar invites. It is expected that you attend ALL of your scheduled Google Meets.

You will be expected to complete THREE tasks each day. It is important that you do not rush these tasks and that you do your absolute best, just as if you were in our normal classroom.

This is our fourth time going into remote learning so we know how it works and we know what we need to do.

If you need to contact your teachers for any reason, please use gmail:

  • Alana – Alana.DiDomizio@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au
  • Narelle – Narelle.Bzdel@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au
  • David – David.Lewis@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au

Remember to check the following each morning:

  • Google Calendar (your teachers will use this to schedule your Google Meets).
  • Gmail (your teachers will use this as your main contact).
  • Blog (the slides will be here with your instructions for the day).
  • Seesaw (teachers may send out notices and reminders through Seesaw).

Please make sure you attend Monday morning’s Google Meet as teachers will use this to explain a number of aspects of the week.

We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces on Monday! WE GOT THIS!!!

Alana, Narelle and David

Update: Learning Conversations

Dear Families,

This week’s Learning Conversations are an important part of sharing the learning with families. We are looking forward to this opportunity to celebrate student successes and set goals for areas of improvement.

Due to the current COVID situation new restrictions for public gatherings have been put in place by the Chief Health Officer from today.

In response to these new restrictions and to keep our community safe all Learning Conversations for Tuesday and Wednesday will now be online via the web links emailed with your School Interviews booking.

To ensure all families have access to the video link it will also be sent again today via Seesaw as a Family Announcement.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we respond to this latest development.

For your information please continue to refer to the Department of Health website:

Please see the updated list of Tier 1 & Tier 2 exposure sites:

Simone will send out everyone’s Whereby link via Seesaw today.

At this stage there is no change to school operations – Claire will keep you updated if and when anything changes.

Thanks for your flexibility.

Alana, David and Narelle

Mother’s Day Stall and Afternoon at SMCM

As Mother’s Day is this Sunday, we think of all the special women in our life – past, present and future! We keep in mind Mother Mary of Jesus and the sacrifices she made for Jesus and all the children on Earth.

We are asking all senior students to bring in a photo of their mother or special woman in their life for an activity at school. Please bring this photo in ASAP!

We look forward to seeing lots of wonderful women at SMCM on Friday 7th May 2021 at 2.30pm. More information will be provided during the week and in this week’s newsletter.

Tuesday-Cross Country Students Only

Dear Families,

Tuesday’s weather forecast predicts rain in the morning and afternoon.

Can participating students please bring a change of clothes(even casual ones, including shoes and socks) to leave at school to change into when they get back at around 2.30pm.

If they have wet weather jackets they can wear this over their sports uniform on the day. They can also bring an umbrella.

The carnival will go ahead unless there is lightning. Rain does not mean it gets cancelled.

Students will only need a plastic bag or small backpack with their lunch, drink bottle and snacks. There is NO SHELTER for the kids, I will bring some tarpaulins to put their bags under to hopefully keep them dry and away from the mud.

Thank you,

Yolanda and Year 6 Teachers
